Each story is unique. But what they have in common is the need for a new kidney.  Without a working kidney, a person must spend hours each week “living”on a dialysis machine.  Many die each year while waiting.  The medical community agrees that the best treatment is a kidney transplant.  Over 70,000 people are on the national waiting list for a kidney.  Currently almost half of all kidney transplants are possible through living donation.  Below is just a sampling of the stories of our friends and neighbors who live in Western New York and who are in desperate need of a "kidney connection."

Buffalo General Hospital and ECMC both have lists of people on the waiting list who have an incompatible donor.  Check with your transplant coordinator to see if there is a match waiting for you  and your incompatible donor.
