Hi, my name is Robert. I live in Buffalo and I have been on dialysis since Christmas Eve 2008. I go to the VA Hospital. My grown children wanted to donate to me, but their blood types are not compatible and my sister cannot donate due to her own medical problems.
I graduated from East High in 1965 and went into the Army and was in Vietnam from 1967-68. I received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. I was an expert rifleman and a sergeant in the combat infantry.
I worked for the Fire Department for 21 years, 3 months, 10 minutes, and 5 seconds! I was hit by a car and retired at that time. I loved my job.
I am an active member of Calvary Episcopal Methodist Church. I enjoy fishing and playing pool. I love taking care of my 7 year old daughter, taking her to Chuck E Cheese and getting her ready for school. I am very proud of my older children. My son is a Senior Chief in the Navy and my daughter graduated from Spellman College and finished her first year at Harvard University to be a lawyer.
I am grateful for all I have and hopeful that I will be given the opportunity for a second chance through a new kidney.
I would like to thank everyone that is part of this wonderful website for giving me a chance to be a part of kidneyconnection.
Thank you for reading my profile. I can be reached at 716-885-3538.
