LOOKING FOR A LIVING ANGEL My name is Debbie Kuhn. I live in Akron, New York. I have Polycystic Kidney Disease, and I am in Kidney Failure, and now require a kidney transplant. I am an A Blood type; so therefore, I can receive from anyone who has a blood type of A or O. I am hoping and praying that I can receive the "Gift of Life", before I need to start dialysis. Right now, the average wait to receive a kidney from a deceased donor, is 3 to 5 years. If I can receive a kidney from a living donor, my chances are greatly improved from having to suffer the medical complications that come with dialysis. I have worked as a Nurse for over 20 years. Everyday, it is getting harder and harder for me to do my Would you consider being tested for being a Living Kidney Donor? Living Kidney Donation is becoming much more widely done and accepted, and actually, last year, Living Donors, outnumbered deceased donors, for the first time. And probably one of the most important facts, that many people, do not know, is that YOU ONL Y NEED ONE KIDNEY, to live a completely normal and healthy life! To be a Donor takes several important factors: You need to be a healthy person between the ages of 18 and 60; not have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart, liver, or lung disease; HIV or Hepatitis. The first step to being a living donor is having your blood tested. Please consider being a donor, or tell your friends, family and co-workers. Tell ANYONE - EVERYONE! Being a Living Donor, Truly takes a Very Special Person, and it is - Without Question, One ofthe MOST UNSELFISH ACTS - ONE PERSON CAN DO FOR ANOTHER! You don't have to be deceased to donate Life. You just have to be "A Living Angel"!
