My name is John Vaughn. I am 62 years old and reside in Jamestown, NY. Currently I am receiving peritoneal dialysis and have been doing so for a period of 4 years. The difficulties that I feel regarding dialysis; outside of having to be connected to the machine 9 ½ hours per night, center around the side effects of treatment – such as possible infections, tiredness, swelling and irritability (to name a few). My hope is that I will eventually be able to receive a kidney so that I can pursue my dreams of furthering my education in the field of social work. This will also enable me to spend an extended amount of time with my grandchildren who truly are the highlights of my life. If you, or someone you know, would be willing to donate |
