August 2, 2012 - My older sister Brenda has donated a kidney to me on Aug 2, 2012. We are both doing fine so far. My sister is a mother of 3 boys and is a speech therapist . She has a very busy life, She took 2 months of her summer to help me by giving me a kidney . She is now feeling pretty good. I am so grateful to her for all she has done for me. I now have some free time not having to go to dialysis 3 times a week. I now have to go for a checkup only once a week.
My life is improving everyday. I will never be able to repay my sister for all she has done for me.

September 20, 2010 - >On September 20th of this year Susan Sessamen received a kidney from Dale Kilner, her ex-husbands nephew. Screening began for Susan’s match in January of this year and Dale did not hesitate to volunteer. After 8 long and nerve racking months the surgery was successfully completed at ECMC. Dale has recovered well and will be returning to work on the 1st of November. Susan is feeling great and hopeful due to all the positive aspects surrounding this transplant: Dale was a young and healthy donor, Susan never had to go on dialysis, and obviously the best aspect – she received a live kidney! |

September 29, 2010 - I'm very happy to tell you that Jim had his kidney transplant on Sept 29th from our daughter-in-law (our special angel). Everyone is doing well, she came home in 2 days, she is a very fit and healthy girl works out everyday at the BAC. Jim came home on Monday and as expected is adjusting to the meds and is tired which is normal. The kidney starting functioning right away and his levels are terrific, yesterday they were 0.975 ! We haven't seen those numbers in years. Just to mention how the kidney connection is so great, a former neighbor of ours who we haven't seen in years (he grew up with our son) and moved to Phoenix years ago. He wanted to get in touch with us again and ended up on the kidney connection and has done a lot of research about being a donor for Jim. How amazing is this. He will be here for us if we ever need him. My son and him were very close and now have reconnected. We thank you for all that you are doing, God bless you. Jim & Donna Tamsen |

Keep me in your prayers as I heal - blessings to all and I will see you all soon. |

August, 2010 - As you have probably heard, Jeff received a kidney a month ago and is doing fine. His meds have been greatly reduced and he will probably be back to work soon. It was the power of prayer that brought this kidney to us. We are eternally greatful to you and to the family who made the decision on behalf of their loved one. I recently picked this up at a funeral parlor and thought you might be interested in posting it.
My Final Gift
It is now time for me to move on; Into the dusk, But also the dawn.
I will remain As the morning comes; As I’ve left behind A gift for someone. So another may walk, May talk, may see; Where their life was locked, I offer a key. I am a donor My final gift, My final deed. |

Donna Ellis and Kathy Starkweather |
February 13, 2008 - Kathy Starkweather and Donna became friends about 8 years ago while working at a department store. Kathy had a son who was born with heart problems 6 years ago and under went open heart surgery when he was only a few days old. When it was time for Kathy to return to work and find a childcare provider for her son it was hard to find anyone willing because of the extra special care he needed so she turned to my mother who babysat in her home part-time and requested her services to care for her son. My mother decided since it was getting harder to be on her feet for long hours and having so much pain from her kidneys being enlarged it would benefit both of them if she quit her current position and took on child care full time. Kathy's son is now 6 years old and is healthy as can be. Kathy said that for this reason she decided to test for my mother, she said "You were there when we needed you, when no one else was. You have done so much for us, that I want to do this for you, I love you, you are like my family." Life is amazing, the Lord works in mysterious ways and it is because of him that they were brought together so many years ago, he had a bigger plan in mind for both of them when they met. Their match was a match made in heaven. Donna recieved her kidney transplant in Buffalo General Hospital. The Doctor said Kathy had very strong kidneys and that my mother was so lucky to have such a wonderful friend. My mothers creatinine level is now normal 0.08 with in 1 week of the transplant and feels like she has so much more energy already. Kathy the donor was discharged on Friday the 15th and Donna was discharged on Tuesday the 19th, both of them are doing well. .. more |
